There is no “rotate” setting in Unicode. Instead, each letter is swapped for a different character that happens to look like it rotated: ɐ (a turned a from the phonetic alphabet), ǝ (turned e), ɥ (turned h), and so on. Then the order is reversed so it reads correctly when the screen is turned over.
A few capitals have no good lookalike, so they come from Lisu and other scripts that share the shape.
Upside down text is rotated 180°, so it reads correctly if you turn the screen over. Mirror text is flipped left to right, like a reflection, and reads correctly in a mirror.
Most letters come from the widely supported IPA phonetic set, so it works almost everywhere. A few capitals may show as boxes on older devices.
Yes. Paste the flipped text into the box and it flips back, since every mapping here is reversible for lowercase letters.
